Shipment of two catamarans from Vung Tau to Oman. Each measuring length 55m x width 16m x height 16m with a net weight of 200MT per catamaran. FLS arranged a temporary steaming license as well as ocean freight including loading and discharging.
The most critical part of this lifting operation was the strong under-current, a window of time during daylight of approximately 45 minutes slack-tide where we could lower down the slings into the water and position the slings under the hull of the ferries.
It took approximately two months of preparation work to smoothly co-ordinate the operation with the tug owner to keep the ferries in position, the divers in the water, and also the crane operator on the ship.
